Around three million Somalis were faced with the problem of drinking water shortage. The drought led to mass disease watery diarrhea, cholera and measles. In addition, the country was on the verge of starvation. In total, half of the population is in need in urgent humanitarian aid, according to the WHO, - more than 6.2 million people.
