Scientists Confirm: Saturn Moon Has Ocean

NASA experts were able to confirm the hypothesis that the surface of Dione, moon of Saturn, has the ocean tens of kilometers deep, with the help of computer simulation. It is located around a stone core and is hidden under a layer of ice.

Scientists Confirm: Saturn Moon Has Ocean

For the first time talks about the possible presence of an ocean on Dione started in 2014 after pictures were received from the Cassini spacecraft. Now, scientists came to the conclusion that gravitational fluctuations observed on the celestial body are associated with the movement of water under the ice crust. Similar phenomena occur at the other satellite of Saturn, Enceladus, where the ocean was also discovered.
