Polar Bears Tried to Eat Scientific Equipment

Canadian scientists who studied the effects of climate change and human impact in the Beaufort Sea, hardly saved their devices: a group of polar bears decided to use a cable for dinner.

Experts were watching from aboard the icebreaker CCGS Amundsen. This story got particularly dramatic as the cost of equipment is 200 thousand dollars, and if it was broken the expedition would have lost all meaning. Polar explorers tried to drive away bears by shouting and clapping. Finally, to everyone's delight, neither the animals, nor the cable were not damaged.
