Perfectly Transparent Ice Formed on Lake in Michigan

A resident of Boyne (USA) posted a photograph in a social network in which he seemingly hovers in the air above the surface of the lake Serlevha. Photoshop has nothing to do with it: water was covered with a completely transparent ice.

Before walking on water, Andre Poino has checked the ice strength with a shovel. As it turned out, it was 5 centimeters thick.

The author said that he had lived his entire life in the vicinity of the reservoir, and for the fifth time he noticed the crystal clear ice on it. The main condition of its formation is the lack of snow and wind, and the temperature close to zero. In addition, the water in the lake is very clean – in particular, because of the wide distribution of invasive mollusc Dreissena prone to active filtering.
