Shell загрязнила Мексиканский заливThe Gulf of Mexico is stained by oil extraction activity again, ecologists report. Fortunately, the consequences of oil spill are not as serious as in April 2010. 319 barrels of drilling fluid were leaked to the water near Royal Dutch Shell platform at the shelf of Alabama coast. The incident took place in just 26 miles away from last year’s BP oil spill spot.

Royal Dutch Shell plc took the responsibility for the spill. According to its representatives, the leak had been closed, and work of Deepwater Nautilus drilling platform had been suspended for repairs. United States Coast Guard experts investigate the incident, while ecologists are trying to specify chemical composition of the fluid. Royal Dutch Shell representatives state it to be a mixture of crude oil and synthetic drilling fluid.
