New Type of Flat Fish Discovered in Myanmar

Chinese scientists have found a new kind of flat cat-fish in one of the rivers of Myanmar. Fish differs by strongly flattened head and two red spots on the fin.

Found in the river Mali cat-fish is a representative of the genus Oreoglanis. These fish live in rivers with a very strong current, and some of them are even able to stay on the rocks in the waterfall.

The size of the fish reaches 114 mm, while the length of the tail ranges from 23 to 22 percent of body length. Eye diameter is less than 0.1 mm, and the teeth on the anterior part of the mandible is wider than the others
