Glowing polyps resemble hydras, however they do not live in isolation, but in colonies. Scientists were able to see them with the help of ultraviolet light, and yellow filters. The length of each «flashlight» is only 1.5 mm. Most likely, the ability to fluorescence helps representatives of this kind to hunt successfully.
