More than 40 Ancient Ships Found in Black Sea

The remains of vessels preserved well because the depth of the Black sea contains little oxygen. The finding will help scientists to make many discoveries related to the history of navigation and features of everyday life of people who inhabited this region in ancient times.

Meanwhile, the main purpose of the expedition was not the search for the sunken fleet, but geophysical surveys, study of the rate of water rise in the Black sea and the chemical composition of the bottom. Ships were seen with the help of remotely operated vehicles, which descended to a depth of 1.8 thousand meters and shot video.
