A large-scale system of tsunami fortifications is planned to be built a on the northeast coast of the Japanese archipelago. The complex will consist of the construction of concrete walls more than four hundred kilometers length, and the height of the individual section is 15 meters. The preliminary cost of the project is almost seven billion US dollars. The idea has its opponents and supporters. Opponents believe that the construction of such a large structure would lead to irreversible changes in coastal ecosystems.

But supporters believe in the opposite: building concrete fortifications is the only way to deal with the elements, which is ready to devour the coastal city on the Japanese islands. The project to build the walls was nurtured for more than four years.
