In St. Petersburg the Yacht Bridge across Bolshaya Nevka Officially Opened

The longest and highest pedestrian bridge - the Yacht one - has appeared in the northern capital of Russia. The crossing connected the southern shore of the Primorsky district and the northern shore of the Krestovsky Island.

The length of the bridge along with the approach part is 1 km. First of all, the bridge is designed for pedestrians, in particular, for football fans who can reach the new stadium. The capacity of the Yacht is up to 24,000 people per hour. Nevertheless, access is also provided for special vehicles.

Before the opening, the bridge was tested for durability - 16 dump trucks with sand passed through it.

The construction of the bridge cost about 2 billion rubles, funds were provided by the construction companies.
