Cherkessk, the capital of Karachay–Cherkess Republic in Russia, decided to use the most environmental friedly method of fighting against water bodies "blooming", the help of fish.

The most active “eaters” of water plants are mirror carps, grass carps

43 fishes were released into water to clean the ponds in "Green park". This method was proposed by scientists, who learned it from mother-nature. Some kinds of fish keep the ponds clean in a natural way - by eating algae. The most active "eaters" of water plants are mirror carps, grass carps and cyprinidae fish. These are the fish which were released to Cherkessk water bodies. All of them easily adapt to the water bodies and at the same time they are not predatory, so they do not menace other water inhabitants and do not threaten the ecosystem of the water body.
