Finns Will Create Cruise Ferry Using Wind Energy

The ferry, designed for 2.8 thousand passengers, and plying on the route Turku-Stockholm-Turku, is already considered to be environmentally friendly transport mode, as it uses liquefied natural gas. And in 2018 it will begin to apply the Rotor Sail Solution technology. This will reduce fuel consumption by 300 tons per year. Rotary sail is a hollow cylinder rotating around its axis under the air stream action. The installation will be activated automatically in the presence of wind of sufficient strength.
