Art Will Make Citizens Smile On a Rainy Day

Yet funny pictures on the ground please the eyes of Puget Sound, Washington State residents only. Artist Peregrine Church draws them and soon he hopes to bring his project to a global level to make the world a little happier. This is a completely new genre of street art: pictures are not visible in clear weather and they appear only in the rain. And most of all they are visible on the new concrete surface, says the artist.

Art Will Make Citizens Smile On a Rainy Day

Peregrine Church draws his pictures with superhydrophobic biodegradable paint that is completely non-toxic to the environment. The themes of his work are funny inscriptions, strange illustrations, patterns and even the squares for hopscotch, the game for kids. The first phase of the work is the development of the stencil. And then the Church goes out on the street. The idea, says the artist, is to transform the most gloomy days to what people will look forward to. Well, or just someone sad to smile.
