Arkhangelsk Surroundings at the Risk of Flooding

A deep cyclone over the White Sea can grant the residents of the Arkhangelsk region not only with nasty wet snow and cold but also a real danger, that is flooding. The strong northwest wind can form a strong wave that can cause the water rising in the delta of the Northern Dvina River, and in the Dvina and Onega bays, as Gismeteo national weather portal reports.

The famous Solovetsky monastery is also at the risk of flooding

The most risk could be faced by the neighborhoods close to water bodies: some regions of Arkhangelsk, Severodvinsk, Onega and the Solovetsky Islands. Storm wind and possible flooding expected within today, and on Tuesday the cyclone begins to shift to the east, leaving the residents of the Arkhangelsk region with sleet and remnants of the wind.
