Arctic Islands Are Being Cleaned from Debris

Alexandra Land island has already got rid of the garbage, Graham Bell Island is next. Both islands are part of the Franz Josef Land archipelago in the Kara Sea. Perhaps, the Island of Hayes in the same archipelago will be cleaned up too. The cleaners are the staff from the Federal Scurity Service in the Arkhangelsk region, because Alexandra Land island accomodates the most northern in the Russian frontier outpost "Nagurskoe"

.Arctic Islands Are Being Cleaned from Debris

Arctic islands are being cleaned up as framework for cleaning rubbish in possessions of the Russian Federation in the Arctic Ocean. More than a billion of rubles were allocated for the first 2-years phase of the program, started in 2011. The most part of the garbage on the islands are ruined Russian military bases.
