On the territory of the national park Onega Pomorye a mass death of pinnipeds was recorded. 34 harp seals, two ringed seals and walrus were found dead on the shore of the White Sea.
The dead marine mammal was discovered by staff of the national Park. Tissue samples will be sent for examination. According to one version, pinnipeds could have become victims of canine distemper.
Numerous traces of bears were also seen on the shore, so initially there could have been more dead animals.
