The microorganisms activity has increased due to untreated effluent, experts believe. In six months they collected all necessary data on the state of water in the lake and pollution sources. The Kurchatov institute participation will allow analyzing satellite imagery to clarify this information. In the future, it will be necessary to make changes to the established requirements for the quality of sewage, to build modern treatment facilities not only in industrial plants, but also in camp sites, the Kurchatov Institute believes. It is also necessary to reduce the amount of pollution associated with agricultural activities and shipping.
