In the heart of Plymouth in Devon (UK) there was found the ringed seal, which travelled 4 800 kilometers from the Arctic Ocean. Over the past 200 years there were only 12 such cases.
To get to the English Channel, the animal had to cross busy shipping lanes. The animal was severely malnourished, his body had several wounds. Specialists of the Cornish seal sanctuary treat the seal, whom they had called Muddy. Zoologists hope that the traveler will soon recover. Taking Muddy to the Arctic not decided yet: earlier, a similar repatriation was over with the fact that the seals again started to sail to the South. To track them, the researchers used satellite sensors.
